WE’RE DOING
a thing 01

BROOKLYN,
JUNE 20th, 2026

01 It’s not a wedding, but it’s like a wedding, but not like a wedding, wedding so you can call it a ceremony, union, joining, festival, partnership, fete, party, the big day, the gathering, the thing, but it’s basically a wedding since we’re signing official paperwork and getting our friends and family together with music and food to celebrate which is as good a name as any: “a celebration” that we’re making our own.

The Story

We have been friends for a long time. Our best friends were dating and when they would visit DC, they hung out with Yuri, and when they visited New York, they hung out with Kim. When Yuri finally moved to New York, we chatted over the years at many dinners and birthday parties and became friends. We both thought the other was cute but, timing is everything.

Until the ramps.

In the spring of 2023 Yuri posted a photo of ramps at Union Square Greenmarket. Kim hearted it. Many times. (Too many times?) We started messaging and agreed to get a glass of wine at June. It was supposed to be casual, but timing and chemistry matched and we left as more than friends.

Three years later after many adventures with family and friends—NOLA, DC, Santa Fe, San Diego, Miami, San Sebastián, and more—we have matching ramp tattoos and live in a Carroll Gardens brownstone with our dog, Song.

And now we’re making this official and want to celebrate with you!

Vibe & Qs

We’re still finalizing the venue and schedule. We will update you and this website with exact times and locations soon. The vibe will be a small ceremony followed by good food and hopefully some dancing. We’re targeting a celebration in the late afternoon that goes into the early evening.

The ceremony will be on Saturday, June 20th, 2026 in Brooklyn, NY. We’ll update you with exact times and locations soon!

We want you to be comfortable and present however you like! It will be June in Brooklyn so the weather is unpredictable, but it will likely be warm. We’ll be indoors and outdoors and there may be some walking from the ceremony to a dinner venue. We will be dressing festive but not overly formal. Yuri says no tuxes! Kim may be wearing white. (Who cares, right?!)

Yes, just please add the person to your RSVP.

Yes. We love your little ones. Bring them!

Yes! A full dinner and drinks will be provided throughout the evening.

Of course. Just make sure to add it to your RSVP so we can prepare the restaurant in advance.

No, but thank you. Your presence is the best present!

We’d love for you to capture and share moments! We’ll have a photographer, but feel free to take photos during the reception.

Ramp season is ephemeral, lasting only a few weeks in the Spring. New Yorkers go a little wild for them and use them in everything while they last. They’re technically an allium and look kind of like a spring onion. They have a unique garlic-leek flavor and are great in a butter, on eggs, in pasta, with salads, and on pizza, basically anywhere you would use garlic or chives.
